All Medical Cannabis Consultants hold a license through the Department of Health and must complete a 20-hour course for their initial certification and be CPR certified. To renew their Medical Cannabis Consultant license, medical staff must complete 10 hours of continuing education every year. In June of 2024, the Washington State Liquor and Cannabis Board worked with the Department of Health to create guidelines for DOH Compliant products. These products are required to be tested for heavy metals and must pass the test to be considered a compliant product.
